F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu

I've got to be honest, whenever I have a Chronomètre Bleu in my hands, it just puts a smile on my face. Everything is just right about this watch, the size, the dial, the case material, the movement,... it's just one of those watches you wish you could keep. 

Introduced in 2009, the Chronometre Bleu has become one of the most wanted of today's watches.

The simplistic “chrome blue” dial, the Journe’s signature hour and minute hands, white printed Arabic numerals and a small seconds counter between 7 and 8 o’clock makes this watch just perfect in every angle.

Driving the hours, minutes, and seconds is the manually wound caliber 1304, which beats at 3Hz, and is made out of 18kt gold. The movement is, of course, finished to the highest standard, with Geneva stripes, guilloché, polished screw heads. The movement has 129 components, 22 jewels and measures 30.04 mm x 3.75 mm. The movement had two mainspring barrels to offer a 56-hour power reserve and are specifically designed to deliver power consistent across that entire time, thus improving accuracy.

The watch case has a diameter of 39mm and is crafted from a unique material called Tantalum, which has been fully polished and with the added advantage of being much more resistant to scratches. 

Prices has gone up quite a bit since being introduced 7 years ago, but that is because there is high demand for the F.P. Journe watches, which are produced is very low quantities each year. The advantage in this case as a collector is that you know your watch will likely continue to be appreciated due to the relative rarity and high demand. Not to mention that the watch and movement are stunning, and have the benefit of looking like no other watch on the market.

The one presented here comes from a collector and has never been worn. It is utterly untouched, not a single trace of use can be spotted. It comes in a full set, box, papers, warranty card, ... It even has a second F.P. Journe strap that comes with it.
