F.P.Journe Octa Lune - 38mm Platinum - Brass movement - Full set

Introducing a rare and highly sought after F.P. Journe Octa Lune 38mm platinum with an early brass-movement in a full set.  

In 2004, Journe began manufacturing movements from 18-carat gold but it is Journe's earliest brass-movement pieces which are highly sought after. Only 1800 brass-movement examples were ever produced, across all lines, and were manufactured exclusively between 2001 and circa 2003. 

The Octa Lune is housed in a classical 38 mm platinum watch case. The white gold dial is delicately textured, and displays a separate silver guilloché dial for the hours and minutes. The words "Phases de Lune" are inscribed below the moon-phase indicator, along with "Invenit et Fecit". The blued F.P. Journe style hands form a distinct contrast to the silver and grey dial. Between eight and nine o’clock is a power reserve indicator of 120 hours, with a large date above.

Fully wound, the Octa delivers chronometric precision for 120 hours. The meter-long mainspring supplies an average 850gr of torque, limiting the loss in balance amplitude to 25% over the five-day period. Beyond that time, the watch will continue to go for another day or two, but the amplitude-loss no longer guarantees precision timekeeping.

This automatic, self-winding F.P. Journe caliber 1300.3 movement is rhodium-plated brass, with fausses côtes embellishments, constructed with 32 jewels and a shock absorber mechanism. The movement is engraved "Exclusive Power Reserve System" and "Precision Chronometer".

On top of the list, the set comes with the service history. An email from F.P.Journe confirming the watch has been serviced in 2018 by them. Another email also confirms the watch has been manufactured in 2003 and sold in 2006 by the official AD (original warranty papers confirming the sales date)
