Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V - Chestnut dial

  • About

    VACHERON CONSTANTIN OVERSEAS 4500V
    Steel | Chestnut dial

    Origin

This designs dates back to 1977 when the 222 has been launched for the brand’s 222nd anniversary and has ever since been one of the competitors of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus. The Overseas 4500v of today has been launched in 2016, third in its generation, stemming from the design by Dino Modolo – an independent designer in charge of many Vacheron Constantin pieces at the time of its original release in 1996 – and Vincent Kaufmann, an in-house designer.

    The Watch

With this Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500v a dress and classic sports watch are merged into a contemporary icon. The 41mm steel watch, with a chestnut sunburst dial, date at 3 and satin - polished finished case, bezel and bracelet edges perfectly suit an active lifestyle.

Its bezel design, a serrated profile reflecting a broken Maltese Cross, inspired by the emblem of Vacheron Constantin, gives the watch a distinctive touch and strong character. The cross is also subtly depicted in the design of the steel bracelet, coming with an exquisitely-finished clasp.

The Chestnut, brown dial is rendered in a smooth, sunburst finish, coming to life when the light falls on it. The dial has only been in production for approximately a year, making this piece a rare find amongst sport watches, hence a unique enrichment of any collection. The hands and index-markers are manufactured in a modern style and are luminous for superior legibility.

Next to the integrated bracelet in stainless steel, there is also a caoutchouc (rubber) strap. A crocodile leather option is also available on the market. The slim profile of the case and bracelet truly hugs the wrist. Another comfortable and smart feature of this watch is the interchangeable bracelet system. No more watchmaker visits or fighting your strap at home: the Overseas 4500v has got you covered with a quick-release system. Simply push a button between the lugs to release the bracelet and change it, making it even more versatile to wear.

‘This watch is a future classic and is a unique find in the European market. It is extremely easy to wear. The bracelet has a smart summer and winter position that I am fond of, a 3mm range offering some extra comfort.’ – Maxime Vyncke, owner Mr Watchley.

    The Movement

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500v houses an automatic movement – caliber 5100 – with an oscillating weight in 22K gold, inspired by the wind rose, reflecting the spirit of travel. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback. The 37-jewel self-winding movement consists of 172 parts and has a power reserve of 60 hours.

    Condition

The watch is in very good condition and has perfect mechanical functionality. It comes with the steel bracelet and rubber strap, including dedicated folding clasp that can be used on both the rubber and leather strap. The steel bracelet shows a few superficial marks, indicating light wear. It comes with original movement and is accompanied by all the original documents.
